I'm a Spaniard Alcaraz fan but you gotta love Sinner's game and character. Also a fan of him. And their duels always are exceptional. Alcaraz is more complete but Sinner is pretty much the only one who can overpower Alcaraz from the baseline. And both are improving. I'd wish they meet in the final.

Sinner has obviously improved his forehand this year, much more pace, deep to the baseline. His drop shot has been well executed throughout this tour. He has a tough mindset but he needs more tactical strength in the important points in order to grind out the victory when something is not going right in the match. I love his calm and cool in his game.

I think sinner just accepted that to contend with Alcaraz for the next ten years, he was gonna have to add some pace to his ground strokes and he has. He’s killing it now

I feel like everyone is just trying to assimilate a rivalry between Sinner and Alcaraz. Only time will tell but in reality, I don’t see Sinner being better than Alcaraz or at a similar level 5 years from now. Hopefully I am wrong and we get to see a Nadal Djokovic like rivalry

Everyone is rightfully talking about Sinner, but Ruusivuori has been getting much more consistent and much better as the years have gone by. I can see him winning is first title this year or next year, as he's looking really good.

Absolutely tough client, Ruusuvuori improved a lot and it seems he can keep improving a little bit more.

Emil is definitely getting better. He needs more consistency (both groundstrokes and serve), he can improve his serve speed, he has those 130+ serves but they usually dont land In, or atleast not often enough. He needs to improve his defence and slice, right now he has only one gear, and its full force. Sinner is just like Emil, but he has better shot arsenal, better defence, better serve. Overall he does everything just a little better. But similar style. Emil almost lost to Botic, Who just pushes Ball to the other side, and thats cause he makes too many unforced errors. Minor fixes and he will win one or more atp250s this year.

Il miglioramento di Jannik è impressionante e c'è ancora molto margine specie al servizio slice, back di rovescio e gioco di volo. Oggi nel primo set ha giocato abbastanza sotto tono con diversi errori eppure non ha mai dato una mezza possibilità al suo avversario che a breve sarà un top 15-20. È un perfezionista e al talento e pulizia con cui distrugge la palla, unisce la calma e determinazione unisce la voglia di migliorare e eccellere. Oggi entra in top 10 ma segnatevi la data in cui uscirà secondo me nel 203.. Alcaraz, Nole e Medvedev sono ancora sopra ma moooolto più vicini rispetto al 2022. Jannik is coming. Rising star

Sono un suo stragrande fan, ma lo vedo ancora inferiore a livello di varietà di colpo rispetto ad alcaraz e djokovic. È migliorato tanto nel dritto e nel servizio, ma secondo me deve migliorare ancora tanto a rete e sopratutto nelle smorzate, cosa nella quale alcaraz è gia un maestro a 19 anni, incredibile. Per entrare in top 5 e top 3 gli mancano quei colpi e a volte la gestione della partita quando le cose si mettono diversamente da come le aveva preparate. Spero veramente di vederlo top mondiale, mi piace troppo questo ragazzo 💪🇮🇹

@francesco. Solo massimo rispetto ed ammirazione per Rafa per tutto quello che ha fatto e farà. Purtroppo credo che non manchi molto alla fine corsa per problemi fisici (piede in primis). Sono convinto che quando non si sentirà più in grado di vincere e competere con i migliori lascerà. A differenza di Nole il suo fisico ultimamente sta scricchiolando sempre di più e con più frequenza: cosa assolutamente normale visto gli sforzi inumani a cui lo ha sottoposto. Detto ciò per questo RG oltre che per Jannik farò il tifo anche per lui. E lo dico da Federiano convinto

I think that adding Cahill to his team has been helpful in terms of Jannik's approach and attitude. He is even more aggressive and is really using his movement and length to create tough angles. That backhand is absurd.

Another stellar and dominant performance from Sinner. I feel like he has the game to win against Alcaraz, but he needs the mindset. And before Alcaraz, I feel like, more so mentally than on a tennis level, he needs to overcome Medvedev. He’s looking well on his way tho. @hello Alcaraz has a little bit more in power, speed, dropshot+ net, amazing kick serve as well. Most people talk about Sinner's incredible ball striking from neutral rally.

@hello Yeah but most of their matches Sinner kinda of "chocked" away. IMO, Sinner has better ground strokes (in average) and a game style fairly similar to the likes of Djokovic. Carlos is an animal, but his game is prone to more UE on a bad day. I also like Sinner's first serve over Carlos'... Again I don't have to be right. It's just the way I see it at least :)

@hello to be fair the first meeting was years ago and not so significant..they are 2-1 on ATP matches in 2022 and 0-1 in 2023, and both times when Sinner lost had match point in USO and set point last week in Indian Wells. In 2022 Sinner was 1 point away from being 3-0 against the Spaniard. I don't see this huge difference in H2H. You can see difference instead on the quality of trophies won, since Alcaraz has 3 1000s and 1 Slam under his belt, and Sinner won a couple of 500s.

Sinner needs to add a good backhand down the line to get more variety and ways to win points, otherwise he'll have a lot of trouble with Alcaraz or Medvedev.

This match was kinda of trippy to watch. Ruusuvuori and Sinner both have very similar looking strokes, they play with the same racket, and they have similar mannerisms to a certain degree. Interesting matchup for sure.

Jannik was lucky to finish this one today, it started raining 10 minutes later and that was the end of play on this day. Nonetheless great performance from him, always tough to come out strong after a 2h rain delay whether or not a player had the momentum. Sinner has an advantage now, he gets a day of rest before the semis while the winner of Alcaraz-Fritz will not. But if Alcaraz wins in under 2.5 hours it wont matter. He is supremely fit.

Don't forget that Sinner started playing at age 11, a late age for a sport as technically complex as tennis. He started late and soon he will be top 5, there you see how he is the smartest player on the circuit in terms of what he needs to improve, and how to improve it, and proof of this is the hiring of Cahill to improve his serve and the effectiveness of his forehand. He will be Alcaraz's nightmare in a short time, because strategically he is superior and technically he is already working to be as well.

To be really picky, Sinner began to devote himself to tennis at the age of 13, until then he was a small ski champion and also liked to play football. (then obviously for fun he will have picked up the racket even earlier, but certainly not "seriously")

Sinner looks very solid. In his game and his future. The New New gen has arrived. It maybe a bit too late for the likes of Berretini, shapo, zverev, tsitsipas, rublev, to get a GS. Felix, Rune, Carlos, Sinner are heavy contenders to win a GS They will be very difficult to beat in a GS semi or final. This also maybe the last year nole has a chance to win a slam. Sinner has improved. I noticed an improved player. With a lot more focus, fire and determination. He is still improving. Sinner and Carlos in special will be a very hard deal for Nole to deal with.

Well, is not that now these players are new. Jannick is already 3 years on the tour, playing big tournaments and Slams. But, with Tsisipas for instance, his record is not good. But is true, that his team is working on power and clean tennis. We hope he gets soon in the top 5.

Precisely. Sinner is reaching SF and sometimes dominating without a proper service. His first serve percentage is always around 50%. If he improves his service, he can really become a thing

I look at Carlos, and say at such a young age...he is perfect. He cannot get much better at anything he does because he is perfect. Jannik played 3 sports, and was a champion skier at 12 ( 1 in Italy )...at 16 he was 2 in Italy. He dedicated to only tennis at 16! My point is his upside is still great. His volleys are average and his drop shot average. I still think Carlos wins more slams, but Yannick will be there all the time and better than he is now.

Alcaraz can definitely improve his serve. If he does that...yeah, I dunno where else he can really improve (just stay healthy!) 😀 Sinner is certainly a fantastic athlete and his movement and footwork are phenomenal for a guy of his stature. He will win his fair share of big titles, I am sure.

I agree with the other comment. He was hitting hard before Alcaraz was even top 100. He was extremely one dimensional and leaning towards ball bashing until he changed coaches I think. He’s added drop shots and a bit of net play which is probably to compete better with guys like Alcaraz and Rune etc

Well guess what boy this Semifinal encounter bloody felt like a final , they went pound to pound non stop. Cralitos looked unusual with his timing being off yielding lot of UFE , Jannik was only tad bit tidier. By third set carlitos body language said he was running on fumes. As a Finn I hoped Emil could have played over his level. But he played arguably his worst game again in the biggest match. Same happened in his first final in Pune against Sousa if I remember correctly. He was great throughout the tournament, then played very underwhelming tennis in the final. And I know, Sinner is top 10 player in the world, Emil should lose to him, but still, would have love to see him play better.
